It’s that time again. March
Madness is here. Next to football season, March Madness
is the busiest time in our industry and this year’s tournament
is shaping up to be very exciting indeed. In honor of all the “madness”
that is the NCAA tournament, I thought I would share with you my adventures
in South Beach, Florida and my meeting with Peter Gold,
the Vice President and General Manager of VegasInsider.com.
For those of you who don’t know, Vegas Insider
is a global leader in sports betting information and has been providing
gaming analysis and handicapping talent, alongside up-to-the-minute
odds and news, since 1995. I had the honor of spending an evening
with Peter while in South Beach and got the inside scoop on what makes
Vegas Insider such a powerful force in our industry.
Knowing Vegas Insider already, I wasn’t surprised to learn that VegasInsider.com
gets 70,000 daily unique visitors and 1 million daily page views.
Many consider it to be The Wall Street Journal of sports
gaming information. Peter explained that the reason they are so respected
is that “VI is perhaps the largest publisher of original proprietary
sports gaming content - most other sites rely on run-of-the-mill feeds.”
Peter added that, “Vegas Insider also features the largest selection
of qualified and professional handicappers covering a vast array of
sports and sporting events.”
We had a very interesting discussion on how it feels at BoDog.com
when there are so many players who use VI’s excellent handicappers
to become winners. Peter tried to suggest that we must often feel
the brunt of the many VI winners. But I told Peter we don’t
feel too bad about it actually, since we spend so much time encouraging
our players to get more information by offering features such as President
Rob Gillespie’s “From
The Frontlines” columns. At any rate, Vegas Insider
has plenty to be happy about, especially their excellent stable of
handicapping talent and BoDog is very happy to be associated with
them. It was simply a pleasure to spend time discussing the trends
of the industry and the best of South Beach with such a handsome and
charming man like Peter Gold.

In addition to meeting with Peter Gold, I spent a few excellent days
in South Beach. It is a stunning place and is renowned for the beautiful
art deco hotels on Ocean Drive that offer a stellar backdrop for photo
shoots and movie sets. Hotels such as The
Tides or The
Century are the very essence of South Beach. That’s
me and my friend Jackie in her BMW outside the Century! That is a
quintessential South Beach moment, cruising Ocean Drive in a very
hot and sexy convertible.

Later that day Jackie and I spent some quality time in the Clevelander, another really cool hotel. This place has 4 glass and neon bars surrounding
a swimming pool for bikini contests, where they run a weekly hot body
competition every Saturday night. The Clevelander features a large
stage and dance floor for nightly shows and, my favorite, a huge indoor
sports bar with big flat screen TVs. Sounds like the perfect place
to watch some March Madness if you ask me. You can check out the live

While I was technically in South Beach to meet with Vegas Insider and do
a photo shoot, there was plenty of time to explore the lifestyle of
Miami. As usual I happened to check out a number of very cool nightclubs
and places such as “Opium”,
which is a very popular club best known for its regular celebrity
sightings. But my favorite destination, by far, had to have been “Nikki
Beach.” I managed to get to Nikki Beach one afternoon.
It has been called “The
Sexiest Place on Earth” and is a favorite of the
wealthy, famous, and jet setting crowd. The idea of Nikki Beach is
very environmental; with both outside and inside bars and lounges
offering plenty of opportunities to see and be seen - and more importantly,
indulge in some skin and sin. And I can tell you that I indulged in
plenty of both! The place is nearly surreal with its
trance-like
house music playing and the many exotic tee pees and
bamboo beds, should the mood strike you.

After a great afternoon and evening of partying I met a bunch of great people
and new friends, and I even invited a couple of them along to my photo
shoot the next day. We were taking some photos of the new BoDog Girl
outfits and South Beach was the perfect setting. My cute new friends
Nikki and Jackie sure looked sexy in their bathing suits and even
better in the new BoDog bikini. After a few yummy blended cocktails
all three of us were really getting into the mood of the photo shoot.
It actually didn’t take too long, but we were having such a
good time that the photographer tagged along with us when we hit the
beach for some fun in the sand and surf. Nikki looked absolutely amazing
getting out of the water - she’s simply gorgeous.

It was such a beautiful day that a dip in the water was required and very
refreshing. At the end of the long “hard” day, the three of
us managed to slip into a hot tub for some serious relaxation time. We
would need it, since we decided to head out on the town for another big
night at the clubs. I really wanted to spend some more time clubbing with
them so we could do some grinding on the dance floor before heading back
to my hotel for a nightcap. A photo shoot with such lovely looking girls
is the perfect aphrodisiac and really puts you in the mood for a big night.

with some “summer loving” adventures for you. Last year
I spent some time on the water with some of my best girlfriends so
who knows what this summer will bring? The more sun and fun the better
