Poker Tips to get you started
Poker

The Poker Tips below are meant as nothing more than a quick reference guide for both the novice and expert poker player.

Poker is a game that has been played in one variation or another since the seventeenth century.  Along the way,  there have been numerous books and articles written on the subject.  Before you start playing any game of poker,  you must first know the rules of the game.  Whether you are playing poker in a traditional land casino or online,  you must stay alert and know the players at your table.  Above all else know what the poker values are in the game you are playing,  and know what hand beats what hand.

After you familiarize yourself with a particular poker game,  the next of our poker tips is to look for the low money poker rooms.  If there are dollar tables,  by all means take advantage of them while you can.  In most instances,  these lower stake games end up being more profitable,  when all is said and done.

Keep things in perspective.  As is true with everything else in life,  nobody wins everything all of the time... including poker games.  If you start having a streak of bad luck,  stop playing.  A lot of people make the mistake of betting more money as they start losing.  Do not fall into this trap.  Either take a break form the table that you are currently playing at,  or stop playing for the night altogether.

And take these poker tips:  Never let the other players at the table intimidate you.  Instead of playing poker,  there are people who sit at the table for the sport of seeing if they can get under your skin.  Avoid taking poker tips from someone at the table.  It is a good idea to stay focused on the game and ignore the people around you.  Do not make eye contact and do not spend time chatting with others.

Follow these simple rules and enjoy this exciting game.
